Florida State Begins Spring Football Practice Tuesday

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Florida State football team began Spring practice on Tuesday with a 20-period workout on the Ed Williamson Practice Fields. The defending National Champions practiced in shorts, spending most of the day working on individual drills.

“It wasn’t a bad practice for the first day,” said head coach Bobby Bowden. “This will be a good ball club if we put it together. There are some good athletes out on that field. It was very obvious today.”

“The big glaring thing is the lack of the two starting tackles from last year (DT’s Corey Simon and Jerry Johnson). We need someone to come in and really do some things in there. It’s just a matter of the young men getting better.”

INJURY REPORT: DE Roland Seymour will have arthriscopic surgery performed on his right shoulder Thursday.

The Seminoles will resume practice on Wednesday with another session in shorts on the Ed Williamson Practice Fields.
