Florida State Celebrates College Colors Day

Sept. 1, 2009

Football season is right around the corner, and Friday September 4, 2009 has been designated College Colors Day.

In it’s fifth year, College Colors Day was designed to celebrate and promote the traditions and spirit that make the college experience unique. Governor Charlie Crist recently issued a proclamation that officially recognizes this special day in the State of Florida.

Florida State University officials encourage their staff, students and fans to show their team spirit not only on Friday September 4th, but on each and every Friday
during the collegiate season.

The College Colors Day initiative extends beyond campus, beyond Tallahassee, and beyond the state of Florida. Organized by The Collegiate Licensing Company, the promotion will unite fans across America by asking them to show their team spirit.

More than 100,000 organizations are included in the mass mailing campaign designed to encourage corporate America to participate and join in the spirit by allowing their employees to wear their favorite college colors. Each year the participation and excitement surrounding this event has grown, and this year promises to be bigger and better than ever!

National and local retailers will participate by featuring College Colors Day signage and by offering plenty of officially licensed garnet apparel to choose from.

Look for the College Colors Day display at your favorite store, and get your game-day garnet on!
