Florida State Concludes Preparation for Miami

October 8, 1998

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Eighth-ranked Florida State concluded preparations for
Saturday’s game at Miami with a 15-period workout in shorts in Doak
Campbell Stadium on Thursday afternoon.

“We had a good week of practice,” said FSU head coach Bobby Bowden. “I
think our guys have really been focused during practice and they are
looking forward to Saturday.”

Bowden moved practice into Campbell Stadium so the Seminoles could get
adjusted to the crowd noise they may encounter in the Orange Bowl on
Saturday. Music was blasted over the public address system during much of
the workout to simulate crowd noise.

“Miami’s fans really get worked up down there when we play so that is why
we practiced with noise,” said Bowden. “It is the first time we have done
it this year but we usually do it before we travel down to Miami.”

Tailback Travis Minor went through practice today but is listed as
questionable for Saturday’s game.

“I thought Travis moved pretty well today,” Bowden said. “I hope he’ll
be ready to go.”

Joining Minor as questionable on the injury list are Dexter Jackson and
Demetro Stephens. Dee Feaster, Lamont Green and Donald Heaven are listed
as probable.

Kickoff for Saturday’s game is scheduled for 3:30 and the contest will be
broadcast by CBS.
