TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State volleyball proved there’s no place like home as the Seminoles completed a weekend sweep, downing Boston College 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-15) on Lucy McDaniel Court on Sunday afternoon. FSU improves to 11-6 overall and 3-4 in the Atlantic Coast Conference while the Eagles slip to 6-13 overall and remain winless in the conference at 0-7.
Looking like she never missed four matches with an eye injury, junior Brianna Barry was once again the offensive leader for the Noles with 11 kills and an impressive .625 attack percentage. The middle blocker also recorded two block assists and posted 12 points.
Freshman Rachael Morgan had a nice game with nine kills, just one shy of her season record, and finished the match with a .529 attack percentage. Rounding out the top hitters this afternoon was sophomore Lauren Richardson with six kills, a .333 percentage and a team-high 10 digs.
The Seminoles dominated in all categories, out-blocking the Eagles five and a half to three, went 32-26 in digs, 36-32 in kills, 32-28 in assists, 47.5-36 in points and posted a .405 team attack percentage to Boston College’s .179.
Florida State looks to continue the winning streak as it hosts North Carolina and NC State next weekend. The match against the Tar Heels on Friday, Oct. 17, will be broadcast live on Sun Sports at 7:00 p.m.
