Florida State Earns Seven CoSIDA Publication Awards

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State University earned seven Citations of Excellence from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for publications during the 1997-98 academic year. The awards were presented at the annual CoSIDA convention in Spokane, Washington recently.

There were 505 citations presented to 150 different institutions in 62 contests. The contests ranged from single sport brochures and game programs to special publications and programs to posters and conference publications. Most contests, except football, were divided into three divisions. Division A includes Division I schools, Division B includes NCAA II and NAIA I schools, and Division C includes NCAA III, NAIA II, NCCAA and Junior Colleges. In football, there was a separate divions for NCAA I-AA schools.

The number of awards in each contest was based on the number of entried, plus a best cover catagory. In total there were 1,724 entries.

CoSIDA is an organization which was established in 1955 to serve Sports Information Directors and thers associated with the promotion of collegiate athletics. It currently number of 1,800 members.
