Sacramento, Calif. – Day one of the NCAA Track and Field Championships kicks off on Wednesday, June 6, at Hornet Stadium on the campus of Sacramento State University. Florida State’s first event will be the men’s 4x100m semifinals at 3:00pm PST.

Head coach Bob Braman along with team captain, senior Greg Bolden, attended a pre-event press conference on Tuesday afternoon to talk about their expectations for the men’s team.

“The difference between this year’s team and last year’s,” Bolden said. “Is this year we are more focused. We have a smaller team [at nationals] this year compared to last year, but the bullets we are packing this time are a lot stronger. Every person we brought this year will score and put up a good effort and that will help towards the championship.”

Braman discussed the athletes’ want to run fast and leave their mark in history at the championship meet.

“I have a great sprint coach in Ken Harnden,” Braman said. “I let him handle all of that. But our consensus is you don’t care how fast you run here. It’s hard to get that through to some of the athletes because they want to run fast. Every athlete wants to get a little piece of history.

“But this is about team championship and individual championships; it’s not as much about times and records.”
