RALEIGH, N.C. (NC State Sports Information) — NC State snapped its
four-game losing streak with a convincing 85-66 victory over Florida State.
The Wolfpack fired a season-high 60.3 percent from the floor and
outrebounded the eminoles 42-25. The victory avenged an earlier loss to
Florida State 74-70 at Tallahassee.
Senior guard Tynesha Lewis, who started at the point guard
slot for the Pack, posted the first triple-double in school history with
10 points, 10 assists and 12 rebounds. She becomes the first Wolfpack, male or
female, to achieve the prestigious milestone.
Teammates Carisse Moody and Ivy Gardner each scored career
highs with 29 and 21 points respectively. Moody, a 6-1 sophomore, hit
13 of 15 attempts from the floor while Gardner nailed eight of 10
After holding a 37-33 advantage at the half, NC State went
on a 9-0 run to open the second half and increase its lead to 13. Florida
State could get no closer than eight points as the Wolfpack closed out the win.
NC State’s defense held April Traylor, Florida State’s
