Florida State Falls To No. 5 Duke 73-60

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) – Alana Beard had 23 points and Iciss Tillis 19 – and
they combined for all but eight of Duke’s second-half points – as the
fifth-ranked Blue Devils beat Florida State 73-60 Monday night.

Beard and Tillis, both freshmen, totaled 36 points in the final 20 minutes
as Duke pulled away in a game that was tied at the half. They also sparked an
8-0 run in the middle of the second half that put Duke ahead 48-39.

Rochelle Parent added 12 points for Duke (14-1, 2-1 ACC). Brooke Wyckoff led
Florida State (10-3, 2-1) with 16 points, while Levys Torres scored 15 and
April Traylor added 13.

The teams were tied 29 at halftime, after Florida State led for most of the
first half. Duke used a 10-1 run late in the half to take a three-point lead
before the Seminoles tied it.

Wyckoff led Florida State with 11 first-half points, while Torres and
Traylor added five apiece. Georgia Schweitzer led Duke with nine first-half
points, and Parent scored eight.
