Florida State Falls To No. 8 Virginia, 1-0

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — The Florida State soccer team dropped a close match to the #8 Virginia Cavaliers tonight 1-0 in Charlottesville, Va. The Seminoles drop to 8-6, 0-4 in the ACC as the Cavaliers improve to 10-4.

The Seminole defense held the Cavaliers scoreless for 81 minutes of the game before UVA’s Carryn Weigand headed in the game winning goal off a short pass from Katie Tracy in the 82nd minute. Seminole goalkeeper Sarah Crawford had six saves on the night and sophomore Marte Vik Edvardsen had the lone shot for FSU.

The Seminoles continue their road trip as they head to College Station, Texas tomorrow. FSU will take on the #22 Texas A&M Aggies on Sunday, October 17 at 8pm EST.
