A total of 25 FSU seniors and former Seminoles worked out Tuesday for over 100 NFL scouts and coaches. Craphonso Thorpe led the way in the 40-yard dash with a time of 4.39. He was followed in the 40 by Bryant McFadden (4.41) and B.J. Ward (4.44). Offensive tackle Alex Barron, expected to be the first offensive lineman drafted, had an impressive day as he recorded a vertical jump of 38″ and did 21 reps on the 225-pound bench press. Barron checked in at 6-7, 312 pounds and ran the 40 in 4.82 seconds.
McFadden had the best vertical with a mark of 39 1/2″ with Leroy Smith (38 1/2″) and Ray Piquion (38 1/2″) close behind. McFadden also had the day’s top standing broad jump at 11’3″. B.J. Ward was next at 11’1/2″. Brian Ross totaled 24 reps on the bench, followed by Travis Johnson (23), Chauncey Davis (22) and Charles Howard (22).
