Florida State Men’s Golf Earns Third Consecutive Top-10 Finish At Windon Memorial Classic

The Florida State men’s golf team finished in tenth place in the team standings as play in the Windon Memorial Classic was completed Tuesday at the Glen View Club. The Seminoles have now earned top-10 finishes in each of their three tournaments this fall. Junior Brad Lusenhop earned the fourth top-25 finish of his career as he led the Seminoles in the individual standings.

Lusenhop (Gloversville, Fla.) carded a three-over par 75 in the third round to finish with a 223 total for the 54-hole event. The three-round score was the fourth best of his collegiate career and marked the fourth time in his last nine tournaments that he has averaged 75.00 strokes per round or better for a 54-hole event.

Sophomore Alan Beers (Midlothian, Va.) also carded a 75 in third round action and finished in 30th place. His three-round total of 224 was only one stroke from Lusenhop’s team leading total. Beers carded two rounds of 75 or better during the event.

Sophomore Rusty Mosley (Vidalia, Ga.) also performed well during the tournament and finished in a tie for 36th-place in the final standings. Mosley carded a career-low tying 71 in Monday’s first round. Freshman Gonzalo Ibarraran (Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico) and sophomore Eric Beaty (Germantown, Tenn.) finished in a tie for 45th place with identical scores of 230. Ibarraran’s best score of 74 came in round one while Beaty’s best round of 71 came in round three.

Florida State continues its fall schedule as it travels to Tampa to play in the Gary Koch/Cleveland Golf Intercollegiate Oct. 14-15.
