Florida State Men’s Golf Team Competing At Atlanta Intercollegiate

STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. –
Florida State University junior Peter Mitchell and freshman Eric Beaty are the Seminoles’ top two golfers after the first two rounds of the Atlanta Intercollegiate at Eagle’s Landing Country Club. Mitchell and Beaty lead the Seminoles with identical two-round totals of 153. Florida State finished the first two rounds with a 617 team score.


The 13 teams in the event played 36 of the three-round 54-hole tournament Thursday with the final 18 beginning Friday at 8 a.m.


Mitchell led the Seminoles with a 75 in the first round. He shot a 78 in the second round for a two-round total of 153. Beaty shot a 77 in the round one and improved his score by one stroke in the second round to card a 76.


Auburn leads the team standings with a two-round score of 575. The Tigers are followed by North Florida, only four strokes behind, at 559. Graeme McDowell of UAB is the current individual medallist with a two-round total of 134.
