AIKEN, S.C. –
Florida State sophomore Alan Beers shot a career-low 68 and freshman Eric Beaty shot a 69 to lead the Seminole men’s golf team to a season’s-best round of 287 in the third and final round of the Cleveland Golf Collegiate Championship at the Palmetto Golf Club. The Seminoles’ 287 team score was nine strokes better than their second round score of 298 and five strokes better than their round one score of 298. Beers (Midlothian, Va.) shot the best round of his career, a three-under par 68, and finished the tournament with a career-best 219 score for the three-round tournament. He finished in a tie for 39th-place with teammate Rick Westbrook. Westbrook’s 219 tournament score is tied for the third lowest of his Florida State career.

Beaty (Germantown, Tenn.) shot a two-under par 69 in the third round and finished with a tournament score of 220. He nearly tied his career-best score of 67, which he carded in the third round of the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship earlier this season.
