Florida State Men’s Golf Team In 11th place at Beau Rivage College Golf Classic

GULFPORT, Miss. –
Senior Mark Donaldson (Kirkaldy, Scotland) shot a two-round total of 148 (four-over par) and is tied for seventh place in the individual standings after the first day of the Beau Rivage College Classic at the Windance County Club. Donaldson’s strong first day of golf helped Florida State to an 11th-place entry in the team standings with one round of 18 holes remaining to be played on Tuesday.


Donaldson was one of five golfers to shoot an even or below par score in round one as he finished the first 18 holes with a score of 72. He stood in a tie for fourth place after the first round. Donaldson shot a four-over par 76 in round two and finished the day in a tie for seventh place.


The Seminoles’ remaining four golfers are all within five strokes of each other after the completion of two rounds. Junior Rick Westbrook (Alto, Ga.) finds himself in a tie for 41st-place with a two-round score of 155 (+11). He is followed by senior Jason Lopez (tied for 45th, 156), senior Kris Hannah (tied for 63rd, 158) and sophomore Peter Mitchell (tied for 71st, 160).


The Seminoles played well as a team and totaled their best round of the day in the second round with a 306 score. Their 306 score was tied for the eighth best team total in the second round among the 16 competing teams.


The tournament concludes with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start on Tuesday.
