The No. 42-ranked Florida State dominated West Virginia Saturday in State College, Pa. The Seminoles defeated the Mountaineers 6-1 for their first win of the season.
Florida State lead the all time series against the Mountaineers 5-0 and stand at 1-1 for the season.
Florida State swept the doubles for the first point of the day and then moved on to win five out of six singles matches. All five singles victories for the Seminoles came in straight sets with freshman Alex Herrera leading the way for the Seminoles at the No. 1 singles position with a 6-1, 6-2 win over West Virginia’s Tatishvilli.
The Seminoles now head back to Tallahassee to prepare for the home opener against Georgia Southern. The match will take place on Sunday February 4th at 1:00 PM.
