Having Guy, Lucas and Alex all ranked in the Top-60 and Aziz having a lot of success this fall in futures events really helped us. I am glad to see that we got rewarded.”

“It looks as if we are going to have an incredibly tough schedule. We play the No. 1 and No. 3 teams at home this spring. We also have a lot of top out of conference matches as well. I think we have an outstanding schedule and it will be a real challenge for us.”

The No. 21 ranked Florida State men’s tennis team kicks off it’s 2018 season with three matches in Honolulu, two against Hawai’i (Jan. 5-6) and one against Texas Tech (Jan. 8)

The No. 21 ranked Seminoles open against the Rainbow Warriors at 4 p.m. ET on Friday and follow that with a second match on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET against the Sandbows. Florida State is 2-0 all-time against Hawai’i with their last win coming in 2008.

The Garnet and Gold wrap up their trip in Hawai’i with a match against Texas Tech on Monday at 5 p.m. ET. The Noles and Red Raiders have split the series both winning one match apiece.

Florida State looks to show their depth this season as they have a nice mix of experience and new talent. The Seminoles look to have freshmen Chase Wood and Sebastian Arcila make an impact to go along with eight returning players.
