TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Following a tough loss to ACC foe Miami, the Florida State volleyball team has regrouped and is prepared to face Wake Forest and Duke in its third-straight weekend on the road. The first stop for the 8-3 Seminoles will be Winston-Salem, N.C. for a match with the 9-3 Demon Deacons on Thursday, Sept. 25, followed by the 9-3 Blue Devils in Durham on Friday.

Florida State is on a five-match winning streak against Wake Forest but has fallen to Duke in the last 10 meetings.

“This weekend is going to be a real challenge for us,” head coach Chris Poole said. “The ACC is so difficult and going on the road is tough but we increase those challenges when you lose the person who’s leading you in kills. That just means that other players are going to have to step up.”

The new challenge for the Noles is battling without their top-player, Brianna Barry. Barry suffered an eye injury in practice on Sunday and is expected to miss up to four matches.

“It’s the first injury of its kind that I have seen as a coach,” Poole said. “I’m hoping that by keeping her home and resting this weekend she could possibly get back sooner than expected.”

Looking to lead FSU in Barry’s absence will be fellow junior Jordana Price who is averaging 2.89 kills/set with a .364 attacking percentage. Price is also ranked No. 29 in the NCAA for blocks per set with 45 total and 1.29/set.

Both match times are 7:00 p.m. and live stats will be provided for both on wakeforestsports.com and goduke.com.
