TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Just two days following the conclusion of its second ACC series of the season, which took place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the Florida State baseball team returns home to host in-state foe UCF on Tuesday and Wednesday at Mike Martin Field at Dick Howser Stadium.
Florida State (15-5) is in search of its 31st all-time victory in the series against the Knights (12-9), when the two teams meet for the first time in over a year on Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. The Seminoles are 16-4 in the series since the turn of the century and have posted double figures in six of those contests, including victories of 11-8 and 15-11 in succession on March 10-11, 2015.
UCF is one of six teams on the schedule from the Sunshine State for the Seminoles in the 2016 season. Furthermore, they are one of four Florida teams, alongside Florida, Miami and Stetson that Florida State will face will face multiple times during the campaign.
The series is being featured as part of the ESPN3 package with the crew of Tom Block and Chip Baker providing the commentary.
The Seminoles are sending freshman lefty Tyler Holton (0-2, 3.94 ERA) to the mound as they search for their 24th all-time win against UCF in Tallahassee on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Knights will counter with Juan Pimentel (0-3, 3.75). Neither team has decided on a starter for Wednesday.
