Florida State Romps Past Auburn, 4-0

AUBURN, Ala. — The Florida State soccer team shutout the Auburn
Tigers 4-0 this afternoon in Auburn. The Seminoles improve to 9-8-1 on
the season as the Tigers drop to 6-12-0.

Sophomore Maren Vik Edvardsen started the scoring for FSU off an
assist from junior April Murphy to put the Seminoles ahead at the 10:31
mark. Murphy then added a goal off a long ball from junior Ashley Halter
at the 12:50 mark. Halter then followed suit when her diving header hit
the back of the net off an indirect free kick from senior Angela
Bonaffino at 32:03. Freshman Cindy Schofield scored the fourth and final
goal at the 41:30 mark when she knocked in her second goal of the season
unassisted. Senior goalkeeper Jamie Gurtov earned the shutout, her
fourth of the season, as Vik Edvardsen, Halter and Schofield all scored
on their lone shot of the game.

The Seminoles head back to Tallahassee to take on the Maryland
Terrapins on Sunday, October 31 at 2pm at the Seminole Soccer Complex.
This match will serve as the final regular season game for four seniors.
