Florida State Sells 7,000 Tickets Over First Two Days to Gator Bowl

Dec. 2, 2004

Florida State ticket manager Patrick Martin confirmed Thursday that Florida State fans have already purchased over 7,000 tickets to the Seminoles’ January 1 Gator Bowl game against West Virginia in Alltel Stadium. The FSU ticket office has fewer than 5,500 tickets remaining for the game and they can be purchased either on-line at seminoles.com or by phone at 1-888-FSU-NOLE.

“We are very pleased with the number of tickets sold to this point,” said Martin. “We encourage Florida State fans to buy their tickets early. The last time we were at the Gator Bowl there were a large number of people buying tickets on game day and we are hoping that our fans will get their tickets early from us this year.”

Florida State sold out of their 15,000 tickets to last year’s Orange Bowl game against Miami. The Seminoles also completely sold out for the 2002 Sugar Bowl against Georgia, the 2001 Orange Bowl against Oklahoma and the 1999 Sugar Bowl against Virginia Tech. The 2001 Gator Bowl that featured Florida State against Virginia Tech drew over 72,000 fans to Alltel Stadium.

Florida State’s Gator Bowl tickets are $40.00 each and will be available until all quantities are sold.
