Columbus, Ga. – Following a heartbreaking loss to No. 4 Tennessee, Florida State’s softball team was unable to shake off No. 2 Texas A&M, falling 7-0 on day two of the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Columbus, Ga. The Seminoles are now 2-2 at the tournament and 11-9 on the season while the Aggies remain undefeated over the weekend and improve to 21-2 for the year.

Following a stellar performance against the Lady Vols earlier in the day, Brittany Osmon led the Seminoles against the Aggies. Osmon went 2-for-2, notching two singles and two total bases. The senior improves her average to .345 after 20 games and leads her team with 19 hits and 30 total bases.

Taking the loss for Florida State was senior Tiffany McDonald, now 1-1, who threw for four innings, giving up six hits, six runs (five earned), walking five and striking out two for Texas A&M. Freshman Sarah Hamilton stepped in to finish the last two innings and struck out one, allowed one hit and allowed an unearned run to score on a wild pitch.

Senior Whitney Buckmon, junior Jessica Gilmore, and sophomore Robin Ahrberg each recorded a hit for FSU but were unable to make it around the bases.

The tournament wraps up for the Seminoles on Sunday as they take on their final opponent, the Iowa Hawkeyes, at 10:00 a.m. at the South Commons Complex. Follow the action live via internet radio and Game Tracker by logging onto
