TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Just four months after its dream season where the fifth-ranked Seminole softball team advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2004 Women’s College World Series, FSU is set to open up its fall schedule Sunday. The Seminoles have begun preparations for 2005 and will get their first glimpse of live action at the Seminole Softball Complex this month.

“Because we have a new group, I’m really looking forward to seeing the chemistry on the team and how well we work together. These fall games will be a chance for people who love softball to come out and see all five of these teams in a relaxed atmosphere.”
– Head Coach Dr. JoAnne Graf

The Tribe will play two scrimmage games this Sunday against North Florida Community College at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m., respectively. On Sunday, Oct. 17, FSU will take on Manatee Community College (Noon) and Gulf Coast Community College (4:00 p.m.). Manatee CC and Gulf Coast CC will battle one another between the Seminole’s two games at 2:00 p.m.

“We have a whole new team and the fall games will give us the opportunity to allow players to earn spots for the season,” said head coach Dr. JoAnne Graf. “It’s also a good chance for us to see who works in different spots and to let us analyze our strengths and weaknesses early on.”
