Base Hits (What You Need To Know):
• Florida State will be off this week as the student-athletes complete final exams. FSU’s next contest will be Tuesday, May 2 at UCF.


• Sophomore Tiffany McDonald (Belfair, Wash.) took over the national lead this weekend for appearances (43) and innings pitched (247.0). Her 23 victories rates her in the top ten. Over the weekend she moved up to sixth in the FSU single-season list for games, eighth for innings and ninth with 245 strikeouts.


• The Seminoles up their national lead to 24 triples on the year as LaShaun Davis (Marietta, Ga.) and Whitney Buckmon (Stone Mountain, Ga.) each hit one in the final game against Virginia Tech.


• Shortstop Yuruby Alicart (Maracay, Venezuela) tied the single-season school record with her tenth home run of the season.


Brittany Osmon’s (San Diego, Calif.) home run in the final game against VT was the 28th hit by FSU this year, the third-highest single-season total in school history.
