TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State fifth-year senior Kyle Young has been selected the Atlantic Coast Conference Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week for the first time in his career.
“Kyle’s been a consistent factor for us in the 500 and the 1000 in all of our duel meet,” FSU head coach Neil Harper said. “He certainly gave us every opportunity to win the meet and I’m excited that during his senior year he gets this recognition.”
Young, an Oviedo, Fla. native, was one of two multi-event winners in FSU’s 159-141 loss to LSU last week. The Seminole distance swimmer took first place in the 1,000 free in 9:19.94 and top honors in the 500 free with a time of 4:30.92. This is the fourth performer of the week honor for the Florida State men this season. Junior Andy Hodgson has been honored twice while senior diver Dan Frebel won the honor in November with his two wins against Florida.
Florida State swimming and diving will host Clemson on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. at the Bobby E. Leach Center Pool. For results and a recap of the action log onto www.semioles.com.
