Florida State Swimming And Diving Teams Fall To Florida

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The FSU swimming and diving teams concluded
their 1999 dual meet season this afternoon as both teams fell to the
University of Florida at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center. The #20 men
fell 137-100 as the women lost 155-82.

The 400 Medley Relay team of Amber Goodwin, Keryn Krenauw, Anne
Blachford and Christy Cech started the scoring for the Lady Seminoles as
they finished second in the event in a time of 3:51.43. Cech went on to
win the 50 Free (23.79) and finished second in the 100 Free in a time of
51.31. Tanya Gurr added points, winning the 100 Free (51.18) and
finishing third in the 200 Free (1:50.62). Anne Blachford won the 200 IM
(2:04.78) as Kristen Adams (5:03.82) and Amber McLain (5:14.71) took the
top two spots in the 500 Free. Keryn Krenauw also added points, winning
the 200 Breast (2:19.99) as Betsy Nagy (2:05.81) and Goodwin (2:07.09)
took the third and fourth spots respectively in the 200 Back. In diving
action, Caren Hirai had the top finish as she took the second spot in
the one-meter with a score of 237.68. Marya Sabesky took the third spot
in the three-meter with a score of 163.60. The 400 Free Relay team of
Adams, Karin Holmstedt, Blachford and Gurr finished the night with a win
in the event in a time of 3:27.22.

Greg Main-Baillie, Brett Petersen, Steven Forson and Kevin
Flanagan started the night for the Seminoles as they took second in the
400 Medley Relay in a time of 3:22.72. Main-Baillie went on to take
second in the 200 Back (1:52.80) and third in the 200 IM (1:54.22) as
Petersen won the 200 Breast in a time of 2:04.78. Nelson Mora added
some scoring with a third place finish in the 200 Free (1:43.64) with
Flanagan finishing third in the 50 Free (21.47) and 100 Free (47.17). In
diving action, Glenn Gonzales had the top finish as he took second in
the one-meter (269.40) and third on the three-meter (283>05. Brent
Burkman finished second on the three meter with a score of 333.60. The
Seminole 400 Free Relay team of Will McReynolds, Nnamsne Ammons, Julian
Daily and Joey Marshburn finished the night with a win in the event in a
time of 3:11.08.

The Lady Seminoles drop to 4-3 as the men fall to 3-3. The two
teams return to action on December 21st as they head to Indian River
Community College for the IRCC Relay Invitational.
