Oct. 31, 2008

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.  – The Florida State swimming and diving team will compete against two in-state rivals on Saturday, November 1, as the Seminoles welcome Indian River Community College and Florida A&M to the Morcom Aquatic Center at 11:00 a.m.

“I think that it’s good to get these in-state rivals coming to Florida State,” FSU head coach Neil Harper said.  “This is obviously their first time to come and visit the new aquatic center and Indian River always has good swimmers and will get their fair share of wins this weekend.  Florida A&M is rebuilding and I’m excited about the kids representing them this weekend.”

The Florida State men (3-0, 1-0) and women (5-1, 2-0) look to continue their strong start to the season and their sparkling record against the two teams.  FSU is a combined 42-4 against IRCC and 21-0 against the Rattlers.  The Garnet and Gold have been training hard all season and look to gain confidence going into a difficult month where Florida State will swim against ACC rival Virginia and No. 4-ranked Florida.

Admission is free for all meets and for live stats and a meet recap log onto www.seminoles.com.
