Tallahassee, Fla.- The Florida State swimming and diving team will compete against six teams this weekend as the Seminoles travel to Atlanta, Ga. for the Georgia Tech Invitational starting Friday November, 17.
Florida State’s will take on Georgia Tech, Duke, Florida Atlantic, LSU, Miami and North Carolina State at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center. This is the Seminoles second meet at Georgia Tech this season. FSU began their year in Atlanta in a quad meet against the Yellow Jackets, Clemson and Alabama. The women went undefeated at the meet and the men finished 2-1.
The No. 21 ranked Seminole women are on a roll, beginning the season 8-0, 4-0 in the ACC. FSU has been led this season by an outstanding freshman class led by Holly Mills (Ruislip, Middlesex, England) who already has two NCAA “B” qualifying times (200 free, 200 back). Fellow freshman C.J. Hendry (Evans, Ga.) also has a NCAA “B” qualifying time in the 200 back.
The No. 24 ranked Florida State men come into the meet 6-1 overall, 2-1 in the ACC. The Seminoles have been led by defending NCAA Champion diver, sophomore Terry Horner (Orlando, Fla.). Horner has already broken his school record on the one-meter board twice this season, the last time against Harvard and Army two weekends ago with a six dive total of 405.75.
