Florida State To Hold Basketball Camps For Boys In June And July

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –
The Florida State Men’s Basketball Program and Leonard Hamilton are offering three team basketball camps in the summer of 2003. The camps are open to boys entering grades 9-12 and will focus on game play in varsity and junior varsity divisions. The three sessions are offered June 26th-28th, July 20th-22nd and July 25th-27th and will be held in Tully Gym and the Florida State Basketball Training Center on the FSU campus.


Each camp is $140 per player and will feature total involvement by the Seminole coaching staff in fundamentals training. Participants will compete in a minimum of eight regular games, a two-minute tournament, and nightly coaching clinics. All team members will receive complimentary camp T-shirt and two team coaches will receive a Coach’s Polo. One head coach and one assistant coach will also receive free room and board. A non-refundable deposit of $150 is required for each team.


Resident campers will be provided meals on campus and should bring gym shoes, a one-week supply of gym shorts, t-shirts, athletic socks and underwear. Towels, a pillow, two twin-size sheets, a light blanket and toiletry items will also be necessary. Day campers must make their own arrangements for meals.


Campers will be covered by a group accident insurance policy provided by the university. Each player must have a physical prior to participating and documentation must be in the Florida State Basketball Office before the first day of camp. No physicals will be given by the university.
