FREEMAN FIRST FROSH WITH BACK-TO-BACK 100-YARD GAMES SINCE 1986
Freshman running back Devonta Freeman rushed for 100 yards on 11 carries against the Terps a week after thrashing the Blue Devils for 109.
The last time a freshman running back rushed for 100 yards in back-to-back games was Sammie Smith in 1986. He rushed for 116 yards on 24 carries against Florida on Nov. 29, 1986 and then 205 yards on 25 carries against Indiana in the All-American Bowl on Dec. 31, 1986.
HOPKINS’ PAT STREAK THIRD LONGEST IN ACC HISTORY
Junior kicker Dustin Hopkins has converted 115 consecutive PATs, the third-longest streak in ACC history.

Today’s game marked the second time this season that Florida State had four receivers catch a pass for at least 25 yards or more. The Noles also accomplished the feat versus ULM.
Junior Nick Moody had a season-best four tackles.
SMILEY SCORES FIRST CAREER TOUCHDOWN
Freshman fullback Debrale Smiley scored his first career touchdown in the fourth quarter.
30 POINT PLATEAU
The Seminoles have hit the 30-point mark in six of seven games in 2011 and nine of their last 11 overall.
Devonta Freeman’s 41-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter matched James Wilder Jr. for the longest run of the season. Wilder Jr. had a 41-yard rush against Charleston Southern.
With 220 yards on the ground, it marks the third straight game FSU has rushed over 100 yards. The last time FSU completed that feat was when FSU had 10 straight 100-yard games beginning in the 2010 Gator Bowl through Game 9 of the 2010 season – Nov. 6, against North Carolina.
THE RETURN OF REED
Although senior receiver Bert Reed played in three of the last four games, his nine-yard catch from EJ Manuel at the 14:22 mark in the first quarter was his first reception since the Charleston Southern game on Sept. 10.
Reed caught a season-high five passes for a season-high 76 yards.
Florida State recorded a season-high six sacks.
Sophomore linebacker Telvin Smith had two sacks, equaling his career sack total coming into today’s game
Sophomore Bjoern Werner has a sack in four of the last five games. He leads the Seminoles with 6.0 sacks.
JENKINS RISES UP THE FSU TFL CHART
Brandon Jenkins had a sack-and-a-half in the first quarter which vaulted him to 13th all-time in FSU history with 31 tackles for loss.
Jenkins has 3.5 sacks this season. He has 17 sacks for his career.
SHAW HAS CAREER DAY
Shaw caught a career-best six catches for 65 yards (two off of his career-best).
Shaw’s 26-yard touchdown catch at the 4:45 mark in the first quarter was the 11th touchdown pass of 25 yards of more by the Seminoles this season.
THOMAS TEARS IT UP
At the 7:40 mark in the first quarter Jermaine Thomas scored on a 35-yard run, his 19th career touchdown.
The 86 rushing yards by Thomas surpassed his season total heading into the game.
HOPKINS’ FIRST MISS
Junior kicker Dustin Hopkins had made 17 consecutive field goals until he missed his 33-yard attempt in the second quarter. The school record for consecutive field goals made is 18.
It’s his first miss since his 51-yard field goal attempt was no good on Nov. 20, 2010 at Maryland with 9:40 left in the fourth quarter.
It’s his first career miss under 37 yards.
EJ Manuel’s score on the first drive marked the fifth time FSU has scored on an opening drive in 2011 and the second touchdown. Florida State also scored a TD on the opening drive against Charleston Southern. It’s the first time FSU has scored touchdowns on back-to-back drives to open a game since the CSU contest.
MANUEL IS CLUTCH ON THE RUN
EJ Manuel’s seven-yard touchdown run at the 12:12 mark in the first quarter was his third this season, a new career-high.
Manuel has been a clutch rusher. His touchdown rush gave him either a first down or a touchdown on 13 of his first 25 rushing attempts in 2011. So 60-percent of the time Manuel rushed in his first 25 carries of 2011 he was getting a first down or a score.
FIRST QUARTER AERIAL SHOW
FSU compiled 120 yards passing in the first quarter, marking the fourth time this season the Seminoles have eclipsed 100 yards through the air in the first quarter.
Other 100-yard passing first quarters: CSU (134 yards), Clemson (116), Duke (160).
THIRD FIRST QUARTER SHUTOUT OF 2011
The Seminoles led the Terrapins, 14-0, at the end of the first quarter, marking the third time this season that FSU has had a first quarter shutout.
FSU led ULM, 7-0, on Sept. 3 and CSU, 17-0, on Sept. 10.
