  • Florida State posted its third straight first-round win this evening. The team recorded a 96-57 first-round win over Appalachian State in 1991, and a 72-70 first-round victory over Tulane in 2001. The Seminoles have not won a second-round game.
  • Florida State improved to 24-7 overall with tonight’s win. Five of the team’s seven losses have come against the tournament field. The Seminoles now own a 7-5 record against the tournament field after tonight’s victory.
  • Florida State and Richmond met for the third time in their respective history, with the Seminoles now holding a 2-1 lead. Tonight’s game was the first time a game in this series was decided by double digits.
  • Florida State had five players in double digits tonight, the first time that’s happened in regulation this season. The Seminoles did post five players in double digits in a win over Virginia Tech earlier this season, but that game went to triple overtime.
  • The team played its first game tonight since a loss in the ACC tournament on March 5, a span of 15 days. Tonight’s game was just the third for the team in the last 29 days.
