TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State men’s tennis team announced the addition of Parker Evertsen. Evertsen joins five other newcomers to the 2013-14 squad.
A native from Marietta, Ga., Evertsen attended Rivers Academy and is a four-star recruit according to tennisrecruiting.com. Nationally ranked at No. 77 in his class, he is the USTA BullProg Designated Champion in Memphis, Tn., and the National Open doubles champion held in Pensacola, Fla.
“It’s been my life dream to attend Florida State and play tennis,” said Evertsen. “My parents (Mike and Kelli Evertsen) went here so that just made me want to go here even more. The coaches and facilities at Florida State are topnotch and I’m looking forward to putting on the garnet and gold this fall.”
The business major reached the quarterfinals of the Southern Boys 18 Closed Tournament in Mobile this summer. He reached the quarterfinals of both the winter and fall 2011 USTA Regional Tournament Segment in Norcross, Ga.
“Parker has improved a lot,” said Hultquist. “He did well at the US Open Qualifier and finished second at the Georgia State Qualifier. He has a great work ethic and I think he’s going to be a good player for us.”
