Tallahassee, Fla. – Florida State will remain at home in the postseason for at least one more week as announced by the NCAA Sunday evening. The Seminoles will welcome the Texas Longhorns to town on Friday, November 23 in third round action of the NCAA Tournament. Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
The Seminoles posted a pair of shutouts to open tournament play in 2007 en route to their third straight appearance in the Round of 16 and sixth overall. In the first round, FSU defeated Kennesaw State 3-0 behind freshman Sanna Talonen’s first career hat trick. The Seminoles then tied a season-high with 30 shots in the second round as FSU blanked LSU 4-0.
Texas advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row and for the third time in school history after downing BYU and Texas A&M last weekend. The Longhorns used three unanswered goals in the second half to come-from-behind and down the Aggies 3-2 in College Station.
The Seminoles (15-5-3) and Longhorns (16-3-5) will meet for the first time in school history on Friday.
Fans can purchase tickets for the NCAA Third Round by logging on to www.seminoles.com, over the phone (850) 644-1830 or by going to the main ticket office located in University Center Side C, Suite 1300. Tickets will also be available at the Seminole Soccer Complex beginning one hour before game time on Friday. Prices are: $7 adults & $5 for youth (3-18), seniors (50+) and students. Also, the first 100 FSU students with an FSU-ID will get in free, compliments of the University.
