Florida State Women Golf Team Signs Two for 2004 Season

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –
Whitney Wright and Whitney Brummett have signed National Letter of Intent to play for the Florida State University Women’s Golf Team. Both student athletes who are scheduled to graduate in the spring will make a powerful impact on the team in the fall 2004 season.


Wright (Rockingham, NC), a senior from Richmond Senior High School won the 2003 North Carolina State Championship and Regional Championship. She shot a 3-over-par 76 to crown Richmond Senior into the 2003 Women’s State Golf Champions. It was Wright’s first title after finishing runner-up the previous year.


“Whitney is going to bring enthusiasm and consistency to our golf program” said coach Debbie Dillman


Brummett (Eureka, MO), also a senior in Eureka High School won medalist honors in District 3 tournament at Aberdeen Golf Course in Eureka. The Eureka girls golf team won their first district team title by eight strokes over rival Lafayette, 373-381


“Whitney is going to bring great length back to our program” said coach Debbie Dillman. “We are extremely excited about our two new Seminoles and are looking for great things from them in the future”


In the last two years, Florida State has won two tournament championships, one in NCAA Central Regional and the other in NCAA Championship under coach Dillman.
