COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Florida State women’s golf team was selected to participate in the NCAA East Regional May 6-8 at the University Club on the campus of the University of South Carolina. The Lady Seminoles, the No. 7 seed in the South District, are one of four ACC teams to qualify for postseason play.
The Lady Seminoles are coming off a second-place finish at the ACC Championships last weekend in Greensboro, NC. The Tribe finished 12 strokes behind the No. 1 team in the country, the Duke Blue Devils. They also captured their first tournament victory of the year in the month of April at the Ryder-Florida State Championships. The Lady Seminoles came back from eight strokes down on the last day to beat the University of Central Florida by three strokes.
The field for the NCAA East Regional includes: Georgia, LSU, Auburn, South Carolina, Furman, Mississippi, Florida State, South Florida, Ohio State, Purdue, Indiana, Michigan State, Duke, Tennessee, Wake Forest, North Carolina, Campbell, Memphis, Penn State. Individuals that will represent their schools: Pam Buff (Tulane), Pia Josefsson (Mississippi State), Line Berg (Central Florida), Sarah Johnston (Alabama), Emily Gilley (Northwestern), Lotta Johnson (UNC Greensboro), Mallory Crosland (Vanderbilt).
The tournament will take place May 6-8, 1999 at the University Club.
