Florida State Women’s Golf Team In Tie For Eighth At Lady Paladin Invitational

GREENVILLE, S.C –
The No. 21 ranked Florida State University women’s golf team in a tie for eighth place at the Lady Paladin Invitational at the Furman University Golf Course. The Seminoles are only 12 strokes behind first-place North Carolina and Furman in the team standings after the first round of the event. Freshman Caroline Larsson, who shot a career-low tying 74, is the highest-ranking Seminole in the event and is in a tie for 12th place after the first 18 holes.


The Seminoles are ranked in the nation’s top-25 in all three major polls for the third consecutive week. The Seminoles are ranked No. 21 by Golfstat and Golf World and No. 23 by Golfweek.


Larsson, a freshman from Sweden, shot a 36 on the front nine and a 38 on the back nine in the first round of the tournament. She is only four strokes off the lead held by Ashley Prange of North Carolina. Prange fired a two-under par 70 to lead the Tar Heels to a first place standing in the team results.


Senior Kristin Tamulis (Naples, Fla.) is only one stroke behind Larsson as she fired a three-over par 75 in round one. After shooting a 39 over the front nine, she carded a 36 on the back nine. Junior Alison Curdt (St. Louis, Mo.) is in a tie for 39th place after firing a six over par 78.


The second round of 18 holes begins at 8:30 a.m Saturday with the final round beginning at 9 a.m. Sunday morning.
