Florida State Women’s Golf Team Maintains Third Place Standing At Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. –
Florida State junior Alison Curdt shot a career-low tying 69 and moved into a tie for second place in the individual standings and the Seminole women’s golf team maintained their third place standing in the team rankings after two rounds of the Landfall Tradition at the Pete Dye Course at the Landfall Golf Club. Curdt will begin play only four strokes off the individual lead while the Seminoles are only five strokes out of first place in the team standings when play in the final round begins Sunday at 8 a.m.


Curdt (St. Louis, Mo.) carded a three-under par 69 and was the low scorer on the day and one of only four golfers to shot below par on the par 72 course. Curdt is tied with three other golfers with a two round total of 146. That group trails the current leader, Nuria Clau, by four strokes. Curdt shot a 69 on Oct. 26 during the second round of the Lady Tar Heel Invitational. She has now carded five scores of 75 or better in 11 rounds this fall. Curdt improved her individual standing by an amazing 19 spots as she jumped from a tie for 21st-place after round into a tie for second place after round two.


Senior All-America candidate Kristin Tamulis (Naples, Fla.) is in sixth place in the individual standings with a 147 total for the first 36 holes of the tournament. She carded a two-over par 74 in the second round and begins play only five strokes off the individual lead.


Seminole freshman Caroline Larsson (Danderyd, Sweden) is the third Florida State player ranked in the individual top 20 as she sits in 16th-place with a 36-hole total of 152. Junior Carrie Sordel (Windermere, Fla.) is in a tie for 21st-place and Katie Quinney (Atlantic Beach, Fla.) is in a tie fir 36th-place in the individual standings.


Florida State begins play Sunday looking for its second top-five and fourth top-10 finish of the fall season. The Seminoles finished in fourth place at the season opening ACC/SEC Challenge in September. The Landfall Tradition is the final event of the fall season for Florida State.
