Tallahassee, Fla. – Women’s tennis junior Carolin Walter (Bingen, Germany) currently ranks 64th in singles on the Intercollegiate Tennis Association 2006 Preseason Division I Rankings.
“Carolin, in our opinion, should defiantly be on top of the rankings,” said head coach Jennifer Hyde. “All it does is give her motivation to get to where she belongs, which is top ten in the country.”
Last season she was ranked 18th before her season was cut short due to injury.
“She is just, in her mind, on her way back from an injury, “continued Hyde. “She realizes it’s a process to get there and after having so much time off, she’s trying to realize she’s got to belief in the fact that it’s going to take her some time to get back on top of her game. She’s getting there slowly, but it is a process she is going to have to go through.”
After finishing last season 9-13, the Seminoles begin their fall schedule September 29th in San Diego, Calif. at the San Diego State Invitational.
