Feb. 27, 2001

TALLAHASSEE, FL.– The Florida State women’s tennis team, lead by junior Alida Gallovits, is traveling to the University of South Florida where they will play the Bulls Wednesday, February 28th. Competition is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. at the USF Varsity Courts.

Florida State leads the all-time series against South Florida 17-10. The Bulls are currently ranked No. 42 in the nation with a season record of 2-3, while FSU is ranked No. 33 and stand at 3-5 for the year. The Seminoles are hoping to turn things around after suffering two close losses on the road this past weekend.

“We have been struggling lately and I think this is the time for us to show our character,” said head coach Lise Gregory. “I have no doubt we will get through this.”

After the battle with in-state rival USF, the Seminoles will return home as they prepare to host Michigan State Tuesday, March 6th at 2:30p.m at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center.
