The Florida State women’s tennis team will take to the road this weekend, March 1-2, when they travel to Texas to take on the Baylor Bears and the Rice Owls. The Tribe will visit Waco, Texas Saturday, February 1st, when it plays the Bears at noon. Following their match at Baylor, the Seminoles will travel to Houston to take on the Rice Owls in a 10:00 am match Sunday, February 2nd. The Seminoles, ranked 58th in the latest polls, currently hold a record of 7-3.
In the first match of the two-match road stint, Florida State will take on the 43rd-ranked Baylor Bears. Baylor enters the match with a record of 3-4. The Seminoles and the Bears have met six times in the history of the two schools. Florida State holds a 4-2 advantage in the all-time series. The last time the two schools met was in 1999, when the Tribe knocked off Baylor, 7-2.
The Seminoles will travel to travel to Houston Sunday to complete the weekend of action against the Rice Owls, currently ranked 75th. The Owls have a record of 5-5 on the season. The match against the Owls will give one of the teams an advantage in the all-time series record, as it currently stands tied at five. The last time the two teams met was in 1999. Florida State defeated Rice that year by a score of 6-3.
The Seminoles will return to the Scott Speicher Tennis Center Saturday, March 8th, when they host the Jaguars of South Alabama. The match is scheduled to begin at 11:00 am
