Florida State’s Baseball Series at NC State Moved to Kinston, NC

Due to construction at Doak Field on the campus of NC State University, Florida State’s road baseball series at NC State (March 21-23) has been moved to Grainger Stadium in Kinston, NC. Game times are now 7:00 p.m. on Friday, 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, and 12:00 noon on Sunday.


Grainger Stadium has a seating capacity of 4,100 and is home to the Kinston Indians of the Class A Carolina League. The ballpark underwent renovations prior to the 2002 season and its playing surface is believed to be one of the finest in the region.


Tickets can be purchased by calling the Kinston Indians at 1-800-334-5467. Ticket prices are $6 for box seats, $5 for reserved seats and $4 for general admission. The team hotel has moved to the Holiday Inn Express in Kinston (252-559-8888).

Kinston is located approximately 90 miles (1 hour, 50 minute drive) southeast of Raleigh. Directions to Grainger Stadium are listed below:


From the west: Take US Rt. 70 Busines (Vernon Ave.); Left on East St.


From the east: Take US 70 West; Right onto HWY 58; Right onto Vernon Ave.; Right n East St.


From Greenville and points north: Take HWY 11 South; Turn right onto Vernon Ave.; Right on East St.
