GREENSBORO, N.C. – After leading the Seminoles to two victories the past week, Florida State’s Levys Torres has been named this week’s ACC Player of the Week, as released by league officials on Tuesday.

Torres, a senior and starting center for the Seminoles, earns ACC Player of the Week recognition after averaging 18.5 points and 19 rebounds as the Tribe

2000-01 league opener.

The Columbia, South America, native recorded a double-double in both contests including a career-high 24 points and a Seminole-record 24 rebounds in the win over Coppin State. Torres shot 67 percent from the field and 65 percent from the free-throw line in the two contests and led Florida State to its first victory over a ranked opponent since the 1992-93 season, its first win in an ACC opener and the first win over the Pack since February 20, 1994.
