Tallahassee – After winning two doubles titles the day before, the Florida State women’s tennis team watched junior Natalie Tirapelli win Flight G, adding a singles title to the long list of wins for the Noles at the Roberta Allison Fall Classic hosted by the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa.
The St. Petersburg, Fla. native defeated Jenny Paul of Auburn University for her first title in her first tournament of the fall season. Fellow junior Daniella Gheorghe headed into Sunday looking for a title in Flight C but lost to eventual champion Magdi Rekasi of Mississippi State.
FSU won two doubles championships over the weekend, one behind newcomer Roxanne Clarke coupled with Lindsey Deason (playing unattached) and another behind senior transfer Nicole Cercone and sophomore Alina Mihaelescu. On the first day of the historical event, the Noles won seven of eight doubles matches and swept the singles matches.
