Florida State’s Tasheika Morris Earns All ACC Honors

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida State women’s basketball’s sophomore newcomer Tasheika Morris has been named to the All-ACC third team as released by the Associated Press on Tuesday. Senior April Traylor and freshman Genesis Choice received honorable mention All ACC and ACC All Freshman team honors, respectively.


Morris leads the team in scoring at 13.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per game and has started 26 of FSU’s 27 games this season. In the ACC, she ranks 11th in scoring and 12th in rebounding. Overall, Morris, who plays forward for the Seminoles, has scored in double figures in 19 games, including four games of 20 or more points. She has led the team in scoring in 10 games and in rebounding in 10 games. She also has three double-doubles to her credit this season.


Traylor, a four-year starter for the Seminoles, is second on the team in scoring at 13.0 points per game, which ranks 12th in the ACC, and fourth in rebounding at 3.6 per game. She’s the team leader with 76 assists this season and ranks second with 32 three-pointers and 38 steals. Overall, she scored in double figures in 19 games this season and led the team in scoring in eight contests. Among FSU’s all-time leaders, Traylor currently ranks fifth in scoring with 1,489 points, third in steals with 214 and second in assists with 384.


Choice has been a force inside as of late for the Seminoles. She’s played in 24 games total and is averaging 4.0 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. Now a starter at center for the Seminoles, Choice, who has scored in double figures four times this season, has averaged 10.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game the past four games.
