Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson threw a two-yard TD pass that would’ve given the Fighting Irish the lead with 13 seconds to go, but an offensive pass interference call took the points off the board. Blessed with new life, the FSU defense held on for one more play and freshman Jacob Pugh picked off Golson’s desperate pass into the end zone to seal the victory.
