Football Concludes Preparations for Clemson

October 15, 1998

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Sixth-ranked Florida State concluded preparations for
Saturday’s Homecoming game against Clemson with a 15-period practice in
shorts on Thursday afternoon at Ed Williamson Practice Fields.

“We have put in a good week of practice and are ready to go,” proclaimed
FSU head coach Bobby Bowden. “It will really be good to get back in front
of our home crowd on Saturday.”

The Seminoles worked on their game plan against their offensive and
defensive scout units. Florida State also worked on special teams plays.

Earlier in the day, FSU team physicians put Lamont Green under general
anesthesia and using fluoroscopy, determined that the damaged ligaments in
his left elbow were sprained and not ruptured. There was no surgical
repair to the ligaments. He will be put into a cast with his elbow
immobolized and may return after approximately four weeks.

Green is the only player out for Saturday’s game. Dexter Jackson, Travis
Minor and David Warren are listed as questionable. Shawn McCorkle and
Demetro Stephens are probable.

Kickoff for Saturday’s game is set for 6:00 p.m. and the contest will be
televised nationally on ESPN2.
