Football Holds Last Practice Before Christmas Break

December 19, 1998

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 2 Florida State Seminoles held their last practice before the Christmas break in Tallahassee. The team used the first half of the one-hour session to work on the kicking game and finished with conditioning.

“We accomplished everything we set out to accomplish this week,” said
head coach Bobby Bowden. “We hope they will keep themselves in good
condition while they’re home.”

The Seminoles are scheduled to return to Tallahassee on December 26th for
meetings and practice.

“We will have a team meeting on the 26th and go out and do a practice,”
said Bowden. “That first one will be like a Monday night (regular season)
practice. We’ll do a lot of conditioning and find out what kind of shape
they’re in.”

Billy Rhodes’ was dignased with a bilateral burner after x-rays and an
MRI came back negative. Rhodes and Ron Dugans (shoulder) are expected to
return to practice when they return from the break. No new injuries were
reported after this morning’s workout.
