Tallahassee, Fla. – No. 5 Florida State (2-0, 1-0 ACC) held a 22-period practice Monday afternoon in full pads as the Seminoles continued preparations for North Carolina (0-3, 0-1 ACC). The team worked in segments during the early part of the day and concluded the remainder of practice working against UNC scout teams.
“We kind of had our Tuesday practice today,” said head coach Bobby Bowden. “We got a little goal line scrimmage in and a little 11-on-11. I think their minds are beginning to get back on the game.”
Saturday’s game with North Carolina is scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. kickoff on ABC. The Seminoles lead the all-time series with North Carolina 11-0-1, with the 10-10 tie coming in 1986 in Tallahassee. The Tar Heels return 13 starters from a 2000 squad that includes quarterback Ronald Curry and defensive end Julius Peppers, who led the nation with 15 QB sacks.
In other practice news, the Florida State – Georgia Tech game has officially been rescheduled for December 1.
“Charlie Carr (Senior Associate Athletic Director) told me today that (John) Swofford (ACC Comissioner) said that it would be December 1,”said Bowden.
The Seminoles will return to the practice fields on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. to continue their preparations.
