Former Noles Make Their Marks In College All-Star Games

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – With their college careers over, several of Florida State’s departing seniors participated in postseason all-star games in hopes of impressing NFL scouts and getting a jump on their professional aspirations.Here’s a roundup of the action: Tropic Bowl, Jan. 18 in Miami. DL Giorgio Newberry had a sack and a fumble recovery for the American Team. 

 

 

Lamarcus Brutus recorded five tackles for the American team.

Newberry in particular made a strong impression.

Next up for Newberry is a trip to the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis next month.

East-West Shrine Game, Jan. 23 in Tampa
LB Terrance Smith recorded a tackle and a fumble recovery before pulling himself out of the game with a hamstring injury. DL Nile Lawrence-Stampleplayed but did not record any statistics. Both players will participate in the NFL combine.

NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, Jan. 23 in Los Angeles
LB Reggie Northrup made three tackles and broke up a pass for Team American, which was coached by former Packers and Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren.
