Former Seminole Greg Jones Makes A Visit To Tuesday’s Practice

Dec. 28, 2004

A familiar face was at Florida State’s practice Tuesday morning. Former Seminole Greg Jones, now of the Jacksonville Jaguars, stopped by the practice fields at Jacksonville University to see an all too familiar sight. Jones was a member of FSU’s 2002 Gator Bowl championship team that defeated Virginia Tech 30-17.

“We had the day off so it was good to come out here and see all the guys,” Jones said. “I remember bowl time – just a lot of practice, but it’s always a good week.”

Jones, a second round pick in the 2004 NFL draft, is second of the team in carries behind veteran Fred Taylor. He started against Houston in the Jaguars’ loss on Sunday.

“I thought I would play a little more this season but that’s the NFL,” Jones said. “I have enjoyed the season in Jacksonville. It was exciting to get my first start on Sunday but obviously we were disappointed in the outcome of the game.”
