Four ‘Noles Named To 2011 Preseason All-ACC Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Florida State quarterback EJ Manuel, defensive end Brandon Jenkins, left tackleAndrew Datko and kick returner/punt returner Greg Reid were all selected to the All-ACC preseason team, which was selected by the league’s media at the July 24-25 ACC Football Kickoff and released Wednesday.

Florida State and Miami led all ACC member schools each with four players selected to the team.The four Seminole upperclassmen were voted on to the 25-member squad following the tabulation of 51 media member ballots from the two-day event at the Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, N.C.

In all, 15 of 25 honorees earned first or second team All-ACC honors last fall., with nine having been selected to the All-ACC first team. Three of the selections are returning first-team 2011 All-America selections.

Manuel, who finished second in voting for ACC Preseason Player of the Year, takes over as the full-time starter for the Seminoles in 2011. He brings a 4-2 record as a starter into the season along with a career 67.3
completion percentage in 17 career games.

Jenkins was a first team All-ACC selection as well as a second team All-America selection in 2010. He ranked
third nationally in total sacks (13.5) and tied for the fourth-most nationally in tackles for loss (21.5) which
finishing last season with 63 tackles.

Datko is a four-year starter for the Seminoles and brings 36 career starts into the 2011 season – second to
fellow offensive lineman, right tackle Zebrie Sanders who has 37 career starts entering the season.

Reid earned his way onto the team as punt/kick returner. He set an FSU single-season record with 742
kickoff return yards a season ago and added 314 punt return yards.

The Seminoles were tabbed by the media at the ACC Football Kickoff to win their first ACC Football title
since 2005.
